In addition to herall-region honors, Engelhardt took home First Team All-Big Westhonors after finishing the season as the conference's top hitter.Putting Pacific's offense on her back for much of the season as theTigers' lone senior, Engelhardt put together one of the finestsingle-season campaign's in Pacific program history. At the pins,Engelhardt posted an impressive 508 kills in 116 games to finishthe year with a 4.38 kills per game average. The senior's per gameaverage ranked No. 16 in the country and third in the region whileranking No. 1 among Big West attackers. Additionally, Engelhardt's508 kills marked just the ninth time in program history a Tigerattack had hit the 500 kill plateau in a single campaign. Inaddition to her dominance at the net offensively, Engelhardt puttogether her finest defensive season of her career as she tallied297 digs (2.56 per game). With her efforts on both sides of theball, Engelhardt put together 14 double-doubles throughoutPacific's 30 matches. She also added a team-best 30 aces whiletallying a career-best 61 blocks. For the year, Engelhardt posted acareer-high 573 points for an average of 4.4 points per game, tyingfor the 16th best total in all of Division I volleyball.</p><p>She finished her career among Pacific's all-time greatestplayers as she posted 1,386 career kills, No. 9 in Pacific's recordbooks. Her 175 career aces ranks No. 2 on Pacific's all-time aceslist while her 0.45 ace per game total tied for the all-time bestper game average among Pacific servers.</p><p><strong>2009 (Junior):</strong><br>Earning First Team All-Big West honors for her play, Engelhardtposted her finest season as a Tiger in 2009 to earn her thirdconsecutive all-conference honor after earning honorable mentionhonors in each of the last two seasons. As a junior, Engelhardt ledthe Tigers in scoring as she posted a team-best 428.5 points on theyear after leading the team in kills with a career-best 362. Her3.38 kills per set average ranked No. 7 in the conference whilehitting at a career-best .262 hitting percentage. In addition tothe kills, Svenja continued her assault on the Tigers' servingrecord books as she posted 38 service aces throughout the year togive her 145 aces for her career, a mark which ranks tied for No. 4all-time. Defensively, Engelhardt ended her third season with theTigers with a career-high 217 digs while also posting 44 blocks.During tournament play, Svenja earned all-tournament honors in twoof the four tournaments the Tigers played in as she garnered theawards at the Bankers Classic as well as the Stockton HiltonInvitational. </p><p><strong>2008 (Sophomore):</strong><br>Despite beginning the season hampered by injury, Svenja continuedher play as one of the top hitters in the conference for theTigers, finishing her second season with 255 kills, third bestamong all Pacific hitters. Even more impressive, Engelhardtcontinued her reign as one of the most potent offensive threatsbehind the serving stripe as the sophomore put down a team-best 43aces, posting a 0.50 per game average. During the season, Svenjanabbed her first-ever player of the week honor as she was named theAmerican Scouting Report's player of the week on Sept. 29 afterleading the Tigers to a sweep of No. 22 Long Beah State and a 3-1win over UC Davis by hitting .356 and notching a combined 27 killsin her first week back from injury. For the year, Engelhardt pickedup where she left off the season before, earning her second All-BigWest Honorable Mention award in as many seasons.<br><strong><br>2007 (Freshman):</strong><br>Svenja exploded on the scene for the Tigers in her freshman season,finishing with 261 kills and a team-leading 64 aces. Engelhardt's64 aces set a new Pacific single-season record, despite onlyappearing in 24 of the Tigers' 27 matches. She finished the seasonranked third in the nation with 0.77 SApg. Svenja capped herfreshman campaign by earning All-Big West Freshman Team honors andAll-Big West Honorable Mention accolades. Engelhardt also tiedPacific's single match record with 11 aces in the Tigers' 3-1 winover Cal State Northridge on Oct. 13. Svenja finished the seasonwith 10 double-doubles, including a career-high 16 digs and 20kills in the Tigers' upset 3-1 win over No. 20 Cal Poly on Sept.29. Engelhardt posted her career-high of 23 kills in the Tigers'3-1 loss to Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 22.<br><br><strong>High School/Club:</strong><br>Engelhardt graduated from Helmholtz-Gymnasium in Heidelberg,Germany, in April of 2007. She is a highly accomplished beachvolleyball player in Germany, competing in eight tournaments duringthe summer of 2007 alone. Svenja and her beach volleyball partner,Britta Buthe, captured three first-place finishes and were rankedas high as 30th as a team. Engelhardt played for the GermanNational Beach Volleyball Team in September of 2006, helping herteam place third in the FIVB World Championships.<br><br><strong>Personal:</strong><br>Svenja Engelhardt is the daughter of Thomas and Corinna Engelhardt.She has one younger brother, Niles. Svenja comes from a veryathletic family as her father was a handball player, while hermother played volleyball. Svenja graduated from Pacific in May of2011 with a degree in biology.</p><p><strong><br></strong></p>
